Every year, the NCAA Tournament shines light on unexpected stars from unlikely places and 14-seed Oakland’s Jack Gohlke is the latest to etch his name in the March Madness history books.
After lighting up three-seed Kentucky for 10 three-pointers in a first round upset, Gohlke was on the national map in a big way.
But before the corporate brands started hitting him up for quick-turn NIL deals prior the next round, The NIL Store powered by Campus Ink was already off and running with the Oakland graduate student.
Less than 24 hours after Gohlke’s breakout performance, we collaborated on an apparel collection - Gohlke’s first NIL experience no less - celebrating his incredible moment that captivated the country.
The Jack Gohlke Collection included a graphic tee and crew sweatshirt plus a unique “GOATke” design featuring his shot chart from his breakout 32-point performance against the Wildcats.
Although Gohlke poured in another six three pointers and 22 points in the second round against 11-seed North Carolina State, it was not enough - even in overtime - to move Oakland through to the next round.
His work on the court is done, but his legacy through NIL merch remains and we are proud to help him build his personal brand quickly around this key moment.
