CHICAGO (May 3, 2022) - The NIL Store powered by Campus Ink has officially announced a merchandising partnership with Doug Edert, who famously helped lead St. Peter’s men’s basketball on a Cinderella run to the Elite Eight in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
Edert is an incredible story, as he became the first collegiate men’s basketball player to truly capitalize on his Name, Image and Likeness in the NCAA Tournament.
Other college athletes had been making money all season, but it was Edert’s rise from everyday college athlete to superstar that truly showed the potential for NIL to be life-changing for college athletes.
Over the course of 10 days in the NCAA Tournament, Edert gained more than 100,000 followers on Instagram and picked up multiple NIL deals, including Buffalo Wild Wings.
Edert has since transferred to Bryant University, which just captured their first NEC Championship after a sensational 22-10 (15-2 NEC) season.
Campus Ink, which recently announced an investment from Mark Cuban, has been written about by national sports business writer Darren Rovell.
ABOUT THE NIL STORE
Backed by Mark Cuban, Campus Ink expanded into the Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) space in 2021 and launched the NIL Store, where it serves as a merchandising solution for student-athletes and schools. The NIL Store operates with the firm belief that every student-athlete has an opportunity to capitalize on their NIL. Campus Ink was founded in 1947 on the campus of the University of Illinois and was reimagined in 2015 with an office in downtown Chicago and a 15,000 square foot production facility in Urbana, Il where the company handles all of its own production and fulfillment.
