NIL: A Year in Review
July 1, 2022

Much has been written about NIL and all that’s changed in the last year. The challenges and opportunities, the controversies and the excitement. As polarizing as some of the conversations around NIL may be, one thing everyone can agree on is that this has been one of the most significant years in the history of the NCAA.

Opportunities for All Athletes

As we reflect on our year at Campus Ink, we’re so grateful for the athletes we work with and who trust us with their brand. We’re also proud to have built a platform through The NIL Store that provides athletes of any sport the opportunity to to monetize their NIL through custom merchandise. Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Football, Track & Field, Swim & Dive, Wrestling, Baseball, and Softball are some of the sports represented among the hundreds of athletes on The NIL Store.

School Partnerships

We’re proud not only of the athletes that we represent but also the institutions we’ve built relationships with. Starting at the University of Illinois and exploding out across the nation, our official announcements with Indiana and Virginia Tech were exciting as the first of their kind, demonstrating a holistic path forward for both student-athletes and universities. While these schools were the first to tell the world, we have a LOT more on deck and cannot wait to continue building on the momentum we’ve created across the country. Our partnerships with Power 5, G5, mid-major, and conferences spanning multiple divisions are allowing schools to find ways to elevate the athletic and educational experience of their students.

Final Thought

A lot has changed in the last year and much more change will come. We joke around at Campus Ink that year 1 of NIL was really Year 0. Everyone was figuring it out, trying to get a lay of the land. As we go into next year there are two things that we are confident in:

  1. While change is hard, it opens opportunities at the table for more voices to be heard and represented. We are thrilled to continue elevating the voices of student-athletes everywhere.
  2. We’re just getting started!!!
